Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a surrogacy agency?

No. We’re independent evaluators. We don’t match families, recruit carriers, or facilitate surrogacy arrangements.

It depends on your state, your agency’s requirements and your legal circumstances. Many jurisdictions require documentation of parental fitness for parentage orders. Most agencies require a home evaluation before matching. Check with your attorney.

The legal frameworks are different. In adoption, you’re assuming custody of someone else’s child. In surrogacy, you’re typically the genetic parent. The evaluation focuses on surrogacy-specific readiness rather than a general child welfare investigation.

No. If significant concerns arise that suggest someone isn’t prepared for surrogacy, we document those honestly. Most evaluations don’t raise major concerns, but our job is assessment, not approval.

Known surrogacy arrangements are possible, but they involve additional emotional complexity and sometimes legal complications. You would still need an independent evaluation of the gestational carrier and appropriate legal counsel.

No. We’re not attorneys. When legal questions arise, we defer to legal professionals.

No. Fertility clinics conduct medical screening. We handle home evaluation only.

Our evaluation reports are designed to be submitted in legal proceedings. If additional documentation or testimony is needed, we can discuss that on a case-by-case basis (typically for additional fee).

We can provide supplemental reports or updates when circumstances change materially. Contact us to discuss what’s needed.

We provide transparent pricing during your initial consultation or intake. Fees vary based on the scope of the evaluation, urgency, and specific requirements.

No. Surrogacy evaluations aren’t typically covered by insurance, and we bill clients directly rather than processing insurance claims.

Yes. We coordinate with surrogacy professionals regularly. We just need you to authorize us to share information with them.

Not a problem. We work with clients nationwide and conduct evaluations remotely via secure video conferencing.

We’ve worked with intended parents and surrogates from dozens of countries. We understand the additional documentation complexity and can tailor reports to meet both U.S. and home country requirements.

No. We conduct evaluations only. If therapy is needed, we can provide referrals to appropriate professionals.

We discuss concerns directly with you and document them in our report. You decide how to address them (or whether to proceed despite them). The evaluation doesn’t dictate your choices—it informs them.

We provide findings to you first, before sharing with agencies or attorneys. If factual errors need correction, we address them. But we don’t change findings to satisfy preferences—our professional judgment stands.
