Our Story

About SurroStudy

Independent evaluation built on principle, not marketing

Who We Are

SurroStudy exists because the surrogacy space needed something it didn’t have: a neutral third party focused exclusively on evaluation.

The field is full of good people doing important work. Agencies match families. Clinics handle medical protocols. Attorneys establish parentage. But when all of those professionals need an independent assessment of readiness, informed consent, or psychosocial factors, conflicts of interest can creep in.

An agency conducting its own home evaluation has an incentive to approve the match. A clinic evaluating its own patient may hesitate to raise concerns that could delay treatment. That’s not malicious—it’s human nature. But it’s also a gap in the process that needed filling.

We created SurroStudy to fill that gap.

True Independence

No financial stake in outcomes. No conflicts of interest. Just professional evaluation.

Legal Defensibility

Reports that hold up in court because they’re conducted without bias.

Ethical Practice

Standards that prioritize informed consent and risk awareness.

Why Independence Matters

Think about how other fields handle this. Your mortgage lender doesn’t conduct their own home appraisal. Your insurance company doesn’t perform its own vehicle inspections. Third-party evaluations exist because they provide a check in the syste — a point where someone steps back and assesses without an interest in the outcome.

Surrogacy deserves that same rigor.

When intended parents go through a home evaluation, they should know the evaluator isn’t thinking about maintaining a relationship with their agency. When a gestational carrier sits for an evaluation, she should know the person across from her isn’t worried about delaying a clinic’s IVF cycle.

Independence protects everyone. It makes the evaluations more credible to courts, regulators, and the families
themselves.

What We Are Not

Supporting all parties in the surrogacy ecosystem with neutral, professional evaluation

Not a Surrogacy Agency.

We don’t match intended parents with surrogates. We don’t recruit carriers. We don’t facilitate arrangements.

Not a Medical Professionals

We don’t clear anyone for pregnancy. We don’t interpret lab results. We don’t make medical recommendations.

Not Attorneys

e don’t draft contracts. We don’t establish parentage. We don’t provide legal advice.

Not a Advocates for any party.

We’re not your cheerleader, your therapist, or your advisor. We’re neutral evaluators.

Our Philosophy

Surrogacy involves profound decisions. People are bcommitting to months of medical treatment, legal complexity, financial investment, and emotional vulnerability. Throwing a baby into the mix—literally—means the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Our job isn’t to make that easier by lowering standards or fast-tracking approvals. Our job is to make it safer by ensuring everyone understands what they’re getting into and that the documented readiness is genuine.

We believe in:

01

Respect

Every person in a surrogacy arrangement deserves to be treated with dignity—regardless of their role, their background, or their family structure.

02

Informed Consent

Education is part of evaluation. If someone doesn’t fully understand what surrogacy entails, they’re not truly prepared to consent to it.

03

Ethical Boundaries

We don’t have a dog in this fight beyond doing good work. That clarity keeps our assessments honest.

04

Professional Rigor

Home evaluations aren’t paperwork exercises. They’re professional assessments that should be conducted by people who know what they’re doing.

05

Transparency

Hidden agendas undermine trust. We’re upfront about our process, our limitations, and our role.

Who Built SurroStudy

SurroStudy was founded by professionals who saw a need and decided to address it. We’re not trying to disrupt the surrogacy industry or replace existing professionals. We’re simply adding a service that didn’t previously exist: a truly independent evaluation.

We work with agencies, clinics, and attorneys—not in competition with them, but in support of their work. Our evaluations strengthen the surrogacy process by adding a neutral checkpoint that benefits everyone involved.

Looking Forward

SurroStudy will continue focusing on what we do best: independent, professional evaluation. We’re not expanding into adjacent services. We’re not building an empire. We’re staying in our lane and doing this one thing really well.

As the field evolves, we’ll evolve with it—staying current on regulatory changes, best practices, and emerging standards. But our core mission won’t change: neutral third-party evaluation conducted with integrity. That’s what the field needs.

That’s what we’ll keep providing.
