In certain surrogacy arrangements, intended parents may be unable to be physically present at the hospital for the birth of their child. In these situations, intended parents may designate a trusted individual to act on their behalf through a Power of Attorney (POA).

  • Identity verification

  • Assessment of understanding of the role and responsibilities
  • Review of any relevant situational factors
The scope is designed to be efficient while still providing meaningful review and documentation.

The SurroStudy for POA is not intended to replace legal documentation or the Power of Attorney itself. Rather, it serves as a supplemental evaluation that:
